Eyebrows

General
Eyebrows frame and accentuate the eyes. This is particularly obvious when you picture yourself without eyebrows. The aging process unfortunately can lead to lower eyebrows with less defined arches. This is from a combination of effects:
-
Hair loss
-
loss of skin elasticity
-
bone loss
-
muscular changes
-
fat pad changes
Improving eyebrows
The balance of where the eyebrow sits is a balance game between those that elevate the brows and those that depress the brow.

Permanent tattooing can enhance the shape of the eyebrow creating the frame to your eyes. There are many approaches to improving eyebrows. However just as they can be improved, some treatments may have the adverse events of dropping them. It's essential to discuss the pros and cons of any treatment and develop a plan best suited to you.
Consultation
At the time of the consultation we will discuss in more detail the mechanisms of the muscles and how this is addressed using different treatments. A balance is required between the forehead muscles and the smaller muscles in between your brows which bring the brow down.
Treatment process
There are different treatment which act on the muscles, and others which thicken the skin .
What to expect
There are no dramatic changes. Usually the lift may only be a few mm's. However remember that aging in general is as a result of movement downwards of the face by a few mm's. Movement any greater will be outside of what is required for your face.
Potential side effects
Some treatment can cause:

-
brow ptosis (ie drooping of eyebrows)
-
Shocking of eyebrows (aka Dr Spock)
-
dropping of the lid

Although the majority of these events are rare and temporary they can be uncomfortable and difficult for a few months. Further details can be provided at the time of your consultation.
