Face shape

General
Following an initial consultation, and depending on your suitability, a treatment plan is developed which may suggest the following treatments:
Muscle relaxants to reduce prominence of some muscles
-
Hyaluronic acids
-
Biostimulators
-
Radiofrequency microneedling to assist with skin tightening
-
Surgical referral
Widened jaws can be related to the bony structure of your face, and may be suited to you. Other persons have difficulty with headaches and grinding teeth.

To some extent we are able to assist by different treatment where in some cases treatments are focussed on thickening the area, and in others it involves creating a more narrow profile. Each of these treatments are different and should be discussed during a consultation beforehand.
Consultation
This area in front of your ear above the jawline may be narrow due to wasting of muscles or losing collagen in the skin from the normal aging process. The aim in this scenario is to target skin. There are a variety of treatments that can treat skin overtime to induce collagen production.

Other persons have either wider jawlines and may experience headaches or grinding at night in which case the muscle overlying this area known as the masseter may be targeted.
Potential side effects
The treatment may affect each side muscle differently and result in some asymmetry. This may also be due to variation of the size of the muscle between sides. There is a very thin muscle which goes from the front of your ear to the corner of the mouth and is not always present in each individual (risorius). Affecting this muscle by making it weaker can result in an asymmetrical smile. Smiling is a form of expression of happiness. Therefore by impacting this, it has the potential to impact on an individuals ability to express their emotions.
