Upper face expression lines

General Information

There are three major muscles that pull the eyebrows downward, and the constant contraction of these can result in vertical lines between the eyebrows.

When muscles waste in the long term, they tend to become weaker and reduces the strength of pushing the eyebrows together.  Other times, even in the absence of expressions, individuals can often have deeper furrows.  Some of these tend to be a familial trait.

When muscles are used a lot like frowning, the movement itself can result in creating folds in the skin.  Alternatively if they are not used, there is a potential to weaken their contraction.
