Your blood consists of red blood cells, platelets and plasma. Components of your blood have substances which assist in the inflammatory process and healing. This is generally referred to as PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma. After blood collection, it is spun in a centrifuge where it is separated into different layer. The top layer which is platelet rich, is injected superficially into affected area.
PRP may be used for skin rejuvenation, healing and hair loss. It has been used in cosmetic medicine, and also in areas such as sports medicine and orthopaedics for joint conditions.

Prior to proceeding, an initial consult to assess suitability of this treatment is required. There are different options to address this and may vary between individuals.
The issue may not addressed with one treatment alone, and rarely is the impact instantaneous but a graduated effect.
Process
Depending on how blood is spun in the centrifuge, the blood can separate into PRP or PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin). The latter of these is more viscous and can swell for longer periods. However it has also been used in the tear troughs and other areas of the face for an enhanced effect.

Blood has different constituents which can work at different levels. It is a complicated process of healing and best discussed in detail during a consultation. As there are several alternatives to this treatment, the treatment alone may not be useful for your area of concern. Therefore it is not useful to present for this specific treatment. It is best to discuss the area of concern during the consultation and an appropriate treatment plan can be developed with side effects, downtime and adverse effects discussed for the different options.
Treatment & Pain Relief
The area to be treated will be sterilised and cleaned and local anaesthetic may be applied in this area. The treatment can be used over your skin to produce improved texture.
Post Treatment and After Care
The area treated may be slightly bruised depending on which option of treatment is used.. In particular depending on the area treated, swelling or oedema is noted. Depending on the amount of swelling, downtime from face to face work may be required.
